Project Overview
This project aims to find and present statistical humanities projects, especially early ones, for the following reasons:
- To provide historical context for the development of the field of digital humanities.
- To preserve the work of early statistical humanities projects.
- To identify common strategies and important developments in the field.
Project Goals
The goal of this project is to research, transcribe, present, and analyze early and/or toy statistical humanities projects. As research for additional projects wraps up, pages will be added to this site to present them.
Project Progress
The project is in perpetual development. The first transcription was William Stanley Jevons's work on Shakespeare. The second is Mendenhall's work on characteristic curves and is still in progress.
